But he knows that despite the death toll, his own death would also have taken its toll on his friends. He knows that if there's an ultimate choice at stake -- and there is, he'll always choose Allison's life over his own. But in this situation he hadn't known, couldn't have known, and Scorpius certainly didn't, so while the thanks is belated, it is also sincere.]

She knows we're leaving stuff out. I told her no one really wanted to talk about my murder spree right now, but I don't know if... [He looks down, holds his breath for a moment. He doesn't know if she believes that's all there is. That alone is a lot. But Allison is smart, and she knows all of them so very well. He exhales.]

I'm starting to think maybe we should tell her. Before she winds up finding out some other way.

[Scott doesn't answer right away, listening to Stiles and Lydia instead while staring at his bedroom ceiling. She's already died here. They already couldn't protect her - he couldn't. How many more times will it happen?]

[He doesn't like it. He's not happy about it. But it will be worse if their omission of the whole truth comes out in another way. He's spent enough time lying and telling half truths to people like his dad to be familiar with the consequences. He lets out a slow breath, nodding. And maybe it will be enough to make Allison realize that her own life has value -- enough that all three of them are there because of that. Or at least in part because of it.]

[Ben is familiar with Stiles, though the two of them have never really interacted directly; perhaps it's time to change that, at least a little. To try. So the face might be a little familiar, though Ben and Dean could not be more different if they were doing it deliberately: Ben is visibly younger, almost rigidly formal, military imprinted on his bones and carefully, precisely, neutrally polite. He typically does not fidget at all, nor does his expression or tone shift much as most others' are given to doing naturally.]

Deals are not something commonly spoken of amongst each other. Often they are something of vital, personal importance that many would rather not share, or that would be potentially dangerous to share in some cases.

I am highly skeptical that a warden has never changed their deal. I have seen too many people change too drastically over the course of their stay here, both wardens and inmates.

[Stiles is familiar with Ben too, and the resemblance to Dean is undeniable and always striking, but also very different. Ben doesn't look as wore out as Dean does, for one. And he's definitely younger. How much so, he's not sure. He's interacted with him a little -- mostly at lacrosse practices but there are so many people at those, it's not the best way to get to know someone. He does remember the formality with which Ben addresses people, and while he's kind of curious about that, he just chalks it up to a quirk. It isn't like Stiles isn't full of those himself.

His eyes widen a little and he quickly shakes his head, holding his hands up when Ben speaks, though.]

Oh, no. I don't -- I'm not asking for specifics about people's deals or anything. That's definitely not any of my business. I don't even want to know why someone else might change their deal if they had the chance, I just kinda...I guess I just want to know if it's possible. Just something I've been thinking about lately. But that makes sense.

I apologize. I meant that due to the personal nature of deals, it's not likely that anyone knows what someone else has done unless they have changed their deals themselves. Personal experience.

I don't have one, as of yet. I hope I am able to change that when it becomes necessary.

Part of him wants to just tell the other man off, but if Zane has useful information...he'll force down as many of the negative feelings about him as he can, the same way he does with Peter when he has to.]

Last time I had to do an emergency blood transfusion out of a hospital, I had tubing from the plane crash and a sea urchin needle. This was actually a step up.
