But he knows that despite the death toll, his own death would also have taken its toll on his friends. He knows that if there's an ultimate choice at stake -- and there is, he'll always choose Allison's life over his own. But in this situation he hadn't known, couldn't have known, and Scorpius certainly didn't, so while the thanks is belated, it is also sincere.]

She knows we're leaving stuff out. I told her no one really wanted to talk about my murder spree right now, but I don't know if... [He looks down, holds his breath for a moment. He doesn't know if she believes that's all there is. That alone is a lot. But Allison is smart, and she knows all of them so very well. He exhales.]

I'm starting to think maybe we should tell her. Before she winds up finding out some other way.

Has anyone ever changed the specifics of their deal without leaving the Barge for awhile first? Is that something that's possible?

I know we haven't really talked but uh, I was wondering if that whole offer you made a few days ago about people talking to you...if that was still on the table. [A beat.]

No, nothing like that. Just...a lot of contemplation on the root of the whole problem.

[She catches the way he said root, so her conclusion isn't a stretch.]

[His voice trails off and he nods, looking down.]

If Jennifer had never activated it. [And she only feels anger toward their former English teacher.]

I think we should all combine our deals. The three of us. So we have back ups in case we need them.

[He feels more than anger for their former teacher. He feels hatred. Actual burning hatred for what she did. For what she put them all through. For the people she'd murdered.]

I don't see why not. I don't know what you asked for, but my deal and Scott's combined already compliment each other. And the Admiral accepted them both, so I don't think it's a problem.

[She doesn't necessarily wants to tell him what her deal is considering it involves him. But she will if it's a necessity so they can make this work.]

[He's not going to tell her what he asked for. He has an idea of what her and Scott's deals involve and they know his is related. That's enough.]

I think they all kind of are operating as backups. Mine'll still be a backup to yours and Scott's, it'll just...go a little farther back then I'd initially planned.

[Lydia considers that for a second, pursing her lips together then nodding. It works. Her deal is to make sure Stiles never gets possessed. That alone should help prevent things from happening on the Nogitsune front and even if someone else does get possessed, then they will know how to help and they will have Stiles on their side to help with answers.

With Scott's deal, they can be sure Allison stays alive.

And with Stiles' new deal, maybe none of that will ever happen at all.]

Yeah. I think it will work. Going that far back should be able to prevent it from happening, but if it doesn't, then-- my deal and Scott's will do the trick. [At least in keeping Stiles and Allison both safe.]

Then that's all that matters. [Keeping Allison and the others alive. He wants to save all the others, too, but maybe it's asking too much. Maybe there has to be a delicate balance. He rubs a hand over the back of his neck.]

[Lydia takes a deep breath and nods as she watches him closely.]

Yeah. It's a good idea.
