005. Rub a Dub Dub Apparently -- Video

[The device clicks on and reveals a dripping wet and more than slightly annoyed Stiles Stilinski standing in the middle of his bathroom, fully clothed. There are suds all over his shirt, and in his hair.]

So, there's a very clear reason for that saying be careful what you wish for, apparently. Except I haven't made any wishes and somehow I ended up fully clothed and in a bubble bath with a rubber duck.

[He holds the rubber duck up as evidence and shakes his head a little. It's annoying, but he knows it could've been a lot worse. Still. He'd been in the middle of working on his database. It's the second time in twenty-four hours that he's had something really weird happened. The first being when Needy had teleported into his room and scared the crap out of him.]

So okay not a huge deal but please don't do it again. [Whoever did it. Because no.]

[He pauses at that, blinking a couple of times.]

Oh. [That's -- that's actually pretty nice. And at least he knows how it happened now. And that it probably won't happen again. He relaxes a little but arches an eyebrow at that admission.]

What else did you wish for?

Sorry.

[She purses her lips together and arches her eyebrows. It's kind of personal but...]

For more control over my screams.

It's okay.

[Somehow knowing it's Lydia who nearly drowned him in a tub of bubble bath makes the whole scenario easier to let go of. He pauses at her next words and then switches the video feed to private. He's not surprised that she wished for that in the least.]

And of course it backfired and now you can barely talk.

Yep.

[She nods, arching her eyebrows. She's frustrated with it but at least none of them are hurt. As far as she knows.]

Did you wish for anything?

[He grimaces at that, reaching out and grabbing a towel off the sink and passing it over his head to at least swipe off the bubbles in his hair.]

No, thankfully not. Hopefully this doesn't last too long. You need anything?

[Lydia shakes her head even as she watches him dry himself. It's really hard to ignore the mental images she got from her mirror self when she's seeing him like this, so she looks away. Mostly because the last thing she needs is to make him uncomfortable.]

No. I'm okay. I might stick to texts until I'm back to normal, though. Are you okay?

[He doesn't think anything about drying off while he's talking to her because he's fully clothed and...he's dried off in front of her before.]

Okay. That's probably a good idea. How bad does your throat hurt? Do you want to switch to text now?

I'm fine. Just wet. [He gives her a tiny wry grin.]

[Normally it wouldn't be an issue. Hell, normally nudity isn't an issue. But when she's trying really hard not to think of him that way, then it becomes an issue.]

It doesn't hurt, it's just tiring. But I'm okay for now.

[It might not be an issue for Lydia normally, but it's a bit of an issue for Stiles. He's extremely self-conscious.]

Okay. If you want some tea or something later, text me, okay?

[Not Lydia, there is only one part of her body she's self-conscious about but she's learned tricks to take the attention away from the claw scars on her side over the years.]

Thank you, I will. And if you wanna come by later, I've got these from another wish...

[She holds up a couple of the Harry Potter books that showed up in her room.]

[A genuine smile lights up his face. He has fond memories of the Harry Potter series. His mom used to read them to him when he was younger, before she'd gotten sick.]

Did you get all of them or just those?

All of them, along with these.

[She has the DVDs, too, in a pile along with Disney movies. It's like her eight year old self threw up in her room.]

So if you wanna bring your laptop, we can watch them, too.

Okay that's awesome. Maybe this wishing thing isn't so terrible after all.

I'll be there in a little bit if you're up for it now.

Well, considering I was hoping for reliable material for research on the supernatural, it's a little off. But it will do for entertainment.

Are you saying you don't think Harry Potter is an accurate portrayal on supernatural things? [He's trying not to grin now.]

There isn't even a banshee on Harry Potter, Stiles. [She might be pouting a little because it'd be cool if there was.]
