For those of you who don't know, there's a vampire on the Barge named Jerry. He hasn't been here long and he's not a very nice guy. Mountain ash can trap him someplace, or keep him out of a place. It acts like a supernatural barrier. I've asked the Admiral for more. I have some already, but not enough for everyone.

[His jaw tightens a little. His face is just a slight shade paler than usual, but if you haven't really paid attention to that sort of thing -- you're not likely to notice.]

Someone with a shitload of super powers should probably go let him out of the laundry room. But be careful. He's probably really pissed off about now.

[He looks like he wants to say something else, but he doesn't. He just disconnects the feed.]

Obviously you guys can't handle mountain ash. So you're going to need to be extra careful with this douchewad. We don't know what kind of damage a vampire could do to one of you.

Unless this boat has a way to seal off parts of the ship from others, and has a secret armory, yeah. It'd be problematic.

Maybe he's trying to be like that one guy in every prison movie who thinks he has to prove he's a total bad ass as soon as he gets here, just so nobody messes with him.

I don't know anything about vampires, but I know enough about why people might be assholes to people they don't even know. There's gotta be something he wants, besides, uh. The obvious.

Yeah, well. I'm not terribly interested in finding out the reasons if I'm being honest. Mostly I only care about him keeping his teeth to himself.

Only... You might have to find out the reasons why he's doing it to get him to stop.

But hopefully it's just a one-time thing, I mean. Being bitten twice by the same vampire, what are the odds, right?

[He grimaces -- both at her logic, which is probably accurate, and at the easy taunt at fate.]

Yeah, maybe. [He shrugs.] Or I'm just hyper-aware of my own shortcomings.

Ugh, you sound like Columbus. [ which- almost sounds like an insult, but it's more like a "yikes I can't believe I'm comparing someone to him" because she doesn't care enough about Ohio to be making comparisons. right. ]

I'm sure you have a lot of really great qualities. Totally useful and- you're just- bitable, I guess. Apparently. Anyway, shut up. You're fine. [ wow wichita that's. nice. ] You wouldn't be a Warden if you weren't, right?

[He cocks his head to the side, looking curious. He smiles a little bit, even when she tells him to shut up. He's so used to people telling him to shut up that he rarely finds it insulting anymore.]

Got it, got it. [He holds his hands up, amused, even if he doesn't necessarily think that being a Warden has anything to do with it.]

He's survived the zombie apocalypse, so he's not completely dumb, just. Columbus dumb.
