For those of you who don't know, there's a vampire on the Barge named Jerry. He hasn't been here long and he's not a very nice guy. Mountain ash can trap him someplace, or keep him out of a place. It acts like a supernatural barrier. I've asked the Admiral for more. I have some already, but not enough for everyone.
[His jaw tightens a little. His face is just a slight shade paler than usual, but if you haven't really paid attention to that sort of thing -- you're not likely to notice.]
Someone with a shitload of super powers should probably go let him out of the laundry room. But be careful. He's probably really pissed off about now.
[He looks like he wants to say something else, but he doesn't. He just disconnects the feed.]
[Private to Werewolf Friends]
Obviously you guys can't handle mountain ash. So you're going to need to be extra careful with this douchewad. We don't know what kind of damage a vampire could do to one of you.

[ Private : Voice ]
[Sometimes, luck is all that makes the difference between another breath and a nosedive into hell. Dean's learned not to turn his nose up at it if he gets the chance.]
Tell me what happened.
[ Private : Voice ]
[Stiles definitely isn't turning his nose up at it either.]
He cornered me in the laundry room. [Stiles rakes a hand through his hair.] He bit me. [And if Jerry was trying to make Stiles his freakin' vampire life mate, he's gonna be super pissed.]
[ Private : Voice ]
Something has definitely changed in his voice by the time he speaks again.]
How'd you feel?
[ Private : Voice ]
I feel okay. I don't feel any different except my neck kinda hurts. [He's silent for a moment.]
How long does it usually take before...[Before I know if I'm going to turn into a blood-thirsty monster.]
[ Private : Voice ]
Your friends still your friends?
[Cool, businesslike; Stiles might be wondering it too, but Dean doesn't believe for a moment that he'll put himself down if it comes to that. Few enough people will. That's what Dean is for.]
[ Private : Voice ]
Yeah. They're both still fine.
[Then again, Lydia's a banshee, who is immune to werewolf bites. It's plausible in Stiles' mind that she's immune to vampire bites, as well. And Mason...he's a reaper, even if he doesn't have his powers. You can't be a fox and a wolf at the same time. He grimaces, shutting his eyes as his anxiety kicks up a little. Because he does not have that advantage. He's completely human.
A few months ago, he probably wouldn't have. But now, knowing the things he knows, having done the things he did the last time he'd been a monster...he absolutely wouldn't hesitate to take himself out of the picture if it means keeping everyone else safe. It doesn't mean he'll do it unless the odds tip out of his favor, though. And right now he feels fine.]
[ Private : Voice ]
[He breaks off a moment, considering again where once he would have just continued musing aloud. The mountain ash will keep Jerry out, too, but he figures if Stiles doesn't see that or think of it on his own, he probably deserves to get bitten again.
He speaks more slowly when he continues again:] You ever heard that if you kill the sire, you sever the bloodline and it takes care of everyone that vampire turned?
[ Private : Voice ]
Yeah. Okay.
[He has to go to the infirmary. There's no way around it at this point. Bucky's already said if Lydia can't get him there, he will, and he knows them both well enough to know they're not kidding around. Hopefully he can get a quick checkup and then lock himself back in with the mountain ash before anything starts to happen.]
Yeah. I've heard it. Is that -- is that how it is in your world?
[ Private : Voice ]
[Dean's end falls silent again, and then the sound of movement, wood being pushed over wood, fabric rustling, and the dull clink of something heavy and glass. The hunter clears his throat.]
You said he was trapped in the laundromat, right?
[ Private : Voice ]
Yeah. In a circle of mountain ash about three feet wide. I think Zane and maybe Steve are heading down there, too.
[ Private : Voice ]
Focusing on a vampire hunt is much preferable to anything else Dean has to focus on right now, and he'll ignore how it feels like a life raft in the midst of whitewater rapids.]
They taking him to Zero? Can they?
[ Private : Voice ]
That's my guess, yeah. And they definitely can.
[ Private : Voice ]
Let me know if anything changes.
[Dean doesn't even notice that he's switched into whatever gear it is that lets him issue orders with the expectation that they'll be followed; in the next moment, he's hanging up.]
