14. A warning to the people/The good and the evil/This is war.

For those of you who don't know, there's a vampire on the Barge named Jerry. He hasn't been here long and he's not a very nice guy. Mountain ash can trap him someplace, or keep him out of a place. It acts like a supernatural barrier. I've asked the Admiral for more. I have some already, but not enough for everyone.

[His jaw tightens a little. His face is just a slight shade paler than usual, but if you haven't really paid attention to that sort of thing -- you're not likely to notice.]

Someone with a shitload of super powers should probably go let him out of the laundry room. But be careful. He's probably really pissed off about now.

[He looks like he wants to say something else, but he doesn't. He just disconnects the feed.]

Obviously you guys can't handle mountain ash. So you're going to need to be extra careful with this douchewad. We don't know what kind of damage a vampire could do to one of you.

[Usually he'd just suggest claws and teeth but... the whole Stiles being human thing. And he's trying to be helpful. Like, actually helpful.]

If mountain ash works, you think the other stuff from home would too? Wolfsbane kind of seems like it's probably just for werewolves, but... Mistletoe, maybe?

Yeah, maybe. Maybe even wolfsbane, but...I don't know. There's a ridiculous amount of mythology on vampires. Maybe even more than what's out there about werewolves.

I don't have Mistletoe here though.

Ask the Admiral for some? And some other stuff too - like, crucifixes and holy water and whatever else. I mean, rubbing yourself in garlic and hoping he doesn't like the taste isn't exactly a great plan B-- but we need to figure out what actually works with this bloodsucking asshole.

Yeah, I'm going to. I already asked him for mountain ash, but he's only giving me enough for four people apparently.

...that would be a horrible Plan B.

Well, my Plan B involves more claws and teeth. We might need to work on yours.

[It is. Awkward. Stiles isn't entirely sure what to do with that, actually. It isn't that the offer doesn't work both ways, because it definitely does. It's just that they've never really liked each other very much and now there's all the stuff with Allison and the nogitsune and Scott there, too. But he purses his lips and nods at the offer, giving him a faint, barely there smile in return.]

Yep. You too. I mean if you need the mountain ash stuff since you can't do that.

Okay. And-- [He almost wants to ask about Allison, how she seems to Stiles, if he'll keep an eye on her. Or maybe he wants to ask about Erica. But they're so very much not there yet, part of the same pack or not, so he thinks better of it, breaking off and shaking his head instead.]

Cool. Yeah, you're the go-to guy for mountain ash, got it.

[He notices the pause and he hesitates, knowing there's something else on Isaac's mind. He wants to ask and he doesn't want to ask at the same time. He breathes out an inaudible sigh.]

What else?

Nothing.

[But, no, a couple beats and--] Allison. She's ready to kill this guy.

[Stiles is smart enough to get where he's going with this: even if it gets her demoted.]

[He leans back in his chair, nodding a little.]

Yeah. I just -- I talked to her. I think I've talked her out of going after him for now. [How long that's going to last though, is anyone's guess.]

She wouldn't-- If she did, he's bad enough that she'd still be a warden. Right?

[He looks kind of skeptical at his first words. She wouldn't. She's the same girl who went after Erica and Boyd unprovoked, as a way to get to Derek. And he gets that the circumstances were extreme, but he's also pretty aware that Allison Argent can be damn dangerous when she's in hunter mode. Her whole family can.]

I don't know, honestly. If it was self-defense or in defense of someone else at the moment she went after him, probably. But if it's a revenge thing? [He purses his lips. That he's not too sure about.]

[Isaac knows it too. He's been on the receiving end of her hunter side's knives. He knows the danger of her temper, of how much she's desperate to protect the pack from everything no matter what, as much as he wishes he didn't. He looks miserable for a moment - the expression passing over his face quickly but pretty obviously - and there's a pause before he nods. He's a realist and he's not exactly famous for his optimism-- of course he knows.]

It would destroy her, Stiles.

[He sees the moment of misery on Isaac's face and he grimaces, looking down. He lets out a breath.]

I know. So we'll have to keep a close eye on her so that it doesn't happen. And if she tries, we'll stop her.
