10. I can't get used to it/I'll never get used to it

So...thanks. For finding me and taking me to the infirmary during the breach.

[As usual, he wonders if his own death would have prevented that of someone else's. Allison's. It always seems to come down to that. But he knows that despite the death toll, his own death would also have taken its toll on his friends. He knows that if there's an ultimate choice at stake -- and there is, he'll always choose Allison's life over his own. But in this situation he hadn't known, couldn't have known, and Scorpius certainly didn't, so while the thanks is belated, it is also sincere.]

Hey. Thanks for...well, Scott said you gave me your own blood or I probably wouldn't have survived. That's pretty awesome doctor-ing, considering the limited amount of supplies and stuff.

She knows we're leaving stuff out. I told her no one really wanted to talk about my murder spree right now, but I don't know if... [He looks down, holds his breath for a moment. He doesn't know if she believes that's all there is. That alone is a lot. But Allison is smart, and she knows all of them so very well. He exhales.]

I'm starting to think maybe we should tell her. Before she winds up finding out some other way.

Hey. Any chance you'd wanna do a movie or video game thing soon?

Has anyone ever changed the specifics of their deal without leaving the Barge for awhile first? Is that something that's possible?

I know we haven't really talked but uh, I was wondering if that whole offer you made a few days ago about people talking to you...if that was still on the table. [A beat.]

Because I think that's probably something I should do.

Oh, I changed me mind about nine times when I 'ad Wade. You're fine up till it's actually done, Stiles love.

Then again, I didn't come for a deal. It weren't exactly altruism, mind, but the thing I needed - I 'ad a future version of meself hunting me down and I needed a place where I wouldn't be able to find meself. So the deal on top of that was just jam.

In the end I used it to give Vanessa a do-over. That were an ex-girlfriend of Wade's that'd got 'erself killed for stupid reasons. We reckoned she deserved better.

That's right. I 'ad no idea why, but she 'ad a timeship that weren't mine and murder in 'er eye. Honestly, it panicked me a bit, to start with.

[She heaves a sigh, because man, that story did not end well.]

Eventually I went out and faced it. Turns out I were trying to stop meself making an enormous mistake; but future me 'ad got so addled from crossing 'er own timeline and chronon radiation from the stolen timeship that she never thought to just tell me what was up like a sensible person. So I escaped from 'er and she never caught me up again till right after I made the mistake she'd been trying to stop.

Dean fixed it for me. Dean gave me 'is deal when Cain graduated. I'll owe 'im the rest of me life for that.

[She may need to be quite a lot drunker before she'll willingly relate the whole story: how a lashed-up solution to the immediate problem on Jupiter's moon created a cascade of further problems that ended with the solar system in fragments.

Instead she looks up brightly, her head cocked like a bird's.]

You sound like a man that's 'ad it 'appen to 'im as well.

You've 'ad some weird and unexplainable and awful crap 'appen to you, though. I can see it on your face. You and all Scott's lot.

[For a moment she's eyeing him searchingly, as though by staring hard enough she could see past his skin and bones and into his past. Then she catches herself, and just smiles intstead.]

We most of us 'ave, of course, or we wouldn't be 'ere. I don't know of a better place to fix them kind of troubles. It's why I love it so.
