[Stiles was diagnosed with ADD at a young age. His teachers liked him well enough in grade school before he got to be too much of a handful, but truthfully, Stiles had always been a handful. He was easily distracted unless he was on his meds, and he was fairly anti-social growing up. There were exactly two people at school that Stiles had given a crap about: Scott, and Lydia. The latter hadn't known him, really, but shortly after his mom died, he'd started paying more attention to the pretty strawberry-blonde in his class. He'd noticed a lot of things about her over the years.
The words puppy love were pretty applicable back then. It had been a harmless crush on his part. It had grown over the years and then he'd gotten to know her. Really know her. It wasn't a crush anymore. It hadn't been a crush for a long time. Not really.
He loves her, plain and simple. He's pretty sure he always will in some form or another. It's similar to the way he feels about Scott in some ways: he feels fiercely protective of her, would do anything for her -- would die for her without a second thought.]
