[Well here we go. He is on a ship and he thinks for the briefest of moments about making a joke about calling it the Ship of Dreams because Lydia has made him watch Titanic a few too many times. But it sounds lame even to him, and he's still not feeling that great about...anything, really.

After a long moment of hesitation, he turns the camera on and gives a small smile that looks a bit more like a grimace than anything. His tone is light and friendly, even if his expression is tired, his skin a bit too pale, and there are bags under his eyes that indicate it's been awhile since he's had any decent sleep. He's still cold, still achy and nauseous, but he knows he's going to get better from that eventually. In theory.]

So I have to admit that the irony in this is kind of hilarious. I mean, my dad's a sheriff and I'm not even out of high school and here I am on a ship about to be a warden.

[He pauses. Warden definitely beats being possessed, so he's rolling with it. It's what he does.]

Can't say this is exactly how I figured things would turn out, buuuut. [He shrugs, looking down for a moment.] It sort of does beat the alternative, so I guess I'm happy to be here.

I'm Stiles Stilinski.

Yeah, but they heal. I mean, I practically face planted into glass that one time, and I'm okay!

[Remarkable healing, even before he was a wolf u_u]

[And there's that reminder of why Scott's dad left that he's known about for years and never uttered a word to Scott about.]

Yeah, I know, dude. You're a champ. [He's so very tempted to reach out and ruffle your hair right now, Scott.]

[It's hardly Stiles' fault. Only one person is to blame for that.]

I'm freaking awesome. It's about time someone else realized it. [He grins, because he's definitely not awesome, but he knows that Stiles always saw his worth. Even when it wasn't very much.

And it's fair, his hair is very ruffleable right now. But he'd probably have to shove Stiles off the bed for it.]

[Definitely only one person to blame for that and Stiles hates Rafael McCall more than just about anyone who's ever existed.]

Uh, hello? Pretty much known that since we were freakin' five, dude.

[Stiles gives him a look, because he knows Scott doesn't see his own worth and it's always bugged him. Then he grins, and he's Stiles and can't resist, so he totally reaches up ruffles his hair.]

Dude! [He laughs and twitches away, pushing at Stiles. Not hard enough, admittedly, to shove him off the bed.] Do you have any idea how hard it is to get my hair to look just messy enough?

[Stiles can't help but laugh, too and he lets his hand drop away from Scott's head.]

Yeah, well, we're about to go to sleep anyway. It's gonna get messed up and be bedhead, dude.

Yeah, and then the battle starts all over again. [He runs a hand through his hair, then just ruffles it himself, because whatever, Stiles is right. He usually is.] Fine, I guess you're forgiven.

Don't I know it. [Cause hey, he has hair now, too.]

Oh good. I'd hate to think our lifelong friendship ended because I messed up your hair.

[Buzz cuts are way, way easier to manage.]

Yeah, true. But I can totally mess up your hair without ending our lifelong friendship. [Which. Of course he is doing right now.]

[They are definitely easier to manage. But he has noticed that he didn't get his first kiss until he let his hair grow out -- Heather. His second kiss -- Lydia. Caitlyn. Malia. It's gotta be a hair thing, right?]

Yes, yes you can. [He shakes his head good-naturedly because well. He started it.]

[Totally a hair thing, and this is why Scott will never buzz his own.]

It's so weird that you have hair to mess up. I can't remember the last time you didn't have it buzzed.

[And Stiles will likely never again either.]

I think I was...like, ten? Maybe. [He shrugs, yawning involuntarily.]

So weird.

[But he leaves Stiles' hair along, and slouches down against the bed. He knows Stiles is having trouble sleeping, learned it his first night here. But he can still try and make it easier for his friend, even if that's just by letting Stiles get comfortable by getting comfortable himself. It's not like Stiles needs Scott telling him to take a nap.

[Stiles watches him for a moment and exhales slowly, shifting on the mattress to get more comfortable, too. His eyelids feel heavy.]

Night, Scottie.

Night, Stiles.

[He's expecting to wake up to at least one of them sprawled half on the floor. It's how they always manage to do this. This time, he hopes he's the one to go sprawling. Stiles looks like he could use some sleep.]
